Girl Burnt To Death By iPhone She Was Charging
A girl in China has been found burnt to
death in her bed after being electrocuted by her iPhone.
18-year-old Wu Weyuan was charging her phone with what has been described as a knock-off charger.
She was found black and charred by her sister who came back from work and smelled something burning.
She went into her sister's room and found her lifeless and the screen of the iPhone 4S she had been charging was smashed.
An autopsy revealed electrocution marks on the neck, hands and left foot of the deceased and police decided that her death was caused by an electrical "leakage" from the phone which caused electrocution.

Austrian Woman Fined For Roaming Naked
A woman in Austria has been fined up to 1,000 Euros ($1,340) for constantly walking on the streets with nothing but a pair of white tennis shoes.
According to Police spokesman Johann Baumschlager,
the young woman was stopped by police on Tuesday after cycling past
officers manning a radar trap on a highway in northeastern Austria.
Baumschlager
said on Wednesday the woman was again identified and told to go home
and get dressed. She was also informed she had been charged with
disturbing public decency — a misdemeanor that carries a maximum
1,000-euro fine.
She had previously been sighted
in the buff while shopping in a supermarket and at a gas station,
filling up her car - and still Naked! (What if there was a fire?)
Amnesty International Releases Graphic Video of 'Nigerian Military' Butchering Citizens
Amnesty International has released a gruesome video to
buttress its allegations that the Nigerian military has been violating
human rights.
The video shows men believed to be Nigerian military officers and some alleged to be members of the Civilian Joint Task Force butchering suspected members of Boko Haram.
One after one, the suspects have their throats slit and they are then thrown into a mass grave by their killers.
Amnesty International had previously accused the Nigerian military of killing innocent citizens and executing suspects summarily as part of its war against terror.

“On Friday, she told me to stay back at home and rest because I was tired. She left the house, saying she was going to the new apartment she was to pack into, assuring me she would be back as usual by 6 p.m.
“But she did not return by 6pm. Rather, the gate man came with a power generating set, saying madam had gone to drop the workers.

“She came back by midnight and when I asked why she did not pick my calls, she said the phone was in silent mode. I brought out my phone and called her line only for it to ring.
“At that point I noticed she was drunk. I got angry and asked if that was the way she would pay me back for leaving everything in Ghana to come and spend time with her. I threatened to quit the relationship. But at that point, her phone rang and I told her to pick it but she insisted that I should pick it and when I did, the caller, who was a male, asked ‘baby are you home?’

US Drone strike kills five militants in northwest Pakistan
A U.S. drone strike killed five militants in Pakistan’s volatile
northwest on Wednesday, security officials and residents said, as the
country’s security forces press ahead with an offensive in a Taliban
stronghold near the Afghan border.
Two missiles slammed into a house in a
village in the Datta Khel area in the border region of North Waziristan,
security officials said, injuring two militants, besides the five dead.
The bodies of the five people killed were charred beyond recognition, one of the villagers told Reuters.
Drone strikes in Pakistan resumed in June
after a gap of six months, during which the Pakistani government pursued
peace talks with the Taliban. Pakistan announced an anti-Taliban
offensive in North Waziristan within days of the resumption.
The United States had long urged Pakistan to crack down on the Taliban stronghold in remote, mountainous North Waziristan.
The Taliban use the region to prepare bombs,
hold kidnap victims, stage public executions, and as a launch pad for
attacks on Afghan and NATO troops across the border.
The military ordered the entire civilian
population of North Waziristan to leave before launching the ground
offensive but residents said most of the militants also moved out.
Many have probably gone into hiding in
Afghanistan or elsewhere in Pakistan, including in thickly forested
valleys further south.

Has US Found Cure For Ebola?
The family of Nancy Writebol, one of the missionary medical
practitioners that contracted the Ebola virus while on a joint
Samaritan’s Purse-SIM team, was already planning her funeral as she lay
stricken with Ebola in Liberia amid the disease’s deadliest recorded
outbreak.
“Yet we kept our faith, (and) now we have real reason to be hopeful,” David Writebol said in a statement read by Johnson.
Her improved condition may not be unconnected with an experimental, U.S.-manufactured drug, ZMapp, which she and her colleague were given in Liberia, although it has never been subjected to clinical trials.
The medicine is thought to work by preventing the virus from entering and infecting new cells, reports CNN. It’s a three-mouse monoclonal antibody — meaning mice were exposed to fragments of the Ebola virus, and the antibodies generated within the mice’s blood were harvested to create the medicine.
Have we found a cure?
Internist and gastroenterologist, Dr. Jorge Rodriguez however said while Brantly and Writebol’s conditions actually improved after taking the drug, the serum shouldn’t be seen as a miracle cure.
“Let’s be cautious. We don’t even know really if this serum is working,” said Rodriguez.
“I’m glad now that these patients were brought to a hospital where so many tests can be done, where they can see the response of their body to this serum. We don’t know if these patients are naturally getting better, or whether the serum is really doing something.”
Writebol and Kent are being treated at the Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, in special isolation units.
1,603 cases of infection has been reported across Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, with 887 of them dead as of Friday, according to the World Health Organization said
She and her colleague, Dr. Kent Brantly, who have both been flown
to the United States are defying odds to stay alive…and seem to be
getting better.
Writebol’s two sons expect to communicate with her soon, Johnson
said. The family was considering funeral arrangements for her just last
week, days after she became sick, David Writebol said through Johnson.“Yet we kept our faith, (and) now we have real reason to be hopeful,” David Writebol said in a statement read by Johnson.

Dozens of Australians Lift Train to Free Man Whose Leg Was Trapped
Dozens of Australians tilted a train
Wednesday to free a whose leg was trapped between a carriage and a
platform, with authorities praising their efforts as an example of
“people power”.
The man was boarding in the Western Australia city of Perth when he slipped and became jammed in the five-centimetre (0.4-inch) gap between the carriage and the station, operator Transperth said in a statement.
Passengers were initially told to move to the opposite side of the train in the hope their weight would shift it away from his leg, a passenger who gave his name as Nic told The West Australian newspaper.
But when that failed, staff told commuters to get off the train and about 50 of them lined up in a row along the platform to tilt the carriage away from the man so he could be lifted out.
“It is the first time we’ve seen something like this happen,” Transperth spokeswoman Claire Krol told AFP.
“We were really fortunate that the staff were there straight away… and all of the passengers not only listened to the instructions from staff, but pitched in and helped.
“This is a real case of passengers of working together… and people power are the perfect words to describe it.”
Transperth said the man was treated by paramedics but was able to catch a later train.
“The end result here is: really lucky for the man involved, but really nice as well to see that everyone came together as a community,” Krol added.

EBOLA: Nurse Who Treated Sawyer Dies, 5 More Cases Confirmed
One of the nurses who attended Patrick Sawyer, the first Ebola victim in Nigeria, has died.
Health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu made
this known in Abuja August 6, Punch reports. He also revealed that 5
other medical practitioners involved in treatment contracted the virus.
“Nigeria has now recorded seven confirmed
cases of Ebola Virus Disease. The first one was the index case, which is
the imported case from Liberia of which the victim is now late.
Yesterday, 5th August, 2014, the first known Nigerian to die of the EVD
was recorded and this was one of the nurses that attended to the
Liberian. The other five cases are currently being treated at the
Isolation Ward in Lagos.”
Sawyer, a US citizen was travelling from
Liberia, the center of Ebola epidemic, to Nigeria and was admitted to a
Lagos hospital where he died from the symptoms of the deadly
disease last month.
Two days ago the case of infection was
confirmed by the Nigerian officials: the health worker contracted the
disease while treating Sawyer.
Since February the deadly virus has claimed
more than 700 lives in West Africa, mostly Sierra Leone, Guinea and
Liberia, and keeps spreading in the continent.
Brutus the giant crocodile attacks shark in Australia
(AFP)Tourists
in northern Australia have been left stunned by two fierce animals
going head-to-head — a massive saltwater crocodile wrestling with a bull
shark in its jaws.
Andrew
Paice was on an hour-long wildlife cruise on the Adelaide River with his
partner and seven-year-old daughter on Tuesday when they spotted
something unusual on the riverbank.
Earlier they had watched as crocodiles,
including the huge 5.5-metre (18-feet) male known as Brutus, leapt out
of the water to eat a piece of buffalo meat held out on a pole to them.
“It was on the way back to the jetty, we went
past Brutus again, he was up on the bank,” Paice told AFP from Kakadu
National Park in the Northern Territory on Wednesday.
“As we were going past, we noticed that there was a fin. We thought it was a barramundi (fish) or something.
“And the guide took the boat in for a closer look and lo’ and behold… it was a shark.”
Brutus, who is thought to be about 80 years
old and is missing a front leg and most of his teeth, is well known in
the area, and the Northern Territory News described the battle as “Jaws v
Claws”.
Speculation is that the prospect of a fish
dinner was tasty revenge for a croc that was thought to have lost his
limb to one of the sharks who inhabit nearby waters.
“But from listening to other people, it was
probably more likely a big crocodile (which took his front leg). But who
knows? It was either a crocodile or a shark,” Paice saidWednesday, May 21, 2014
Pandemonium as rival youth groups clash in Imo
There
was pandemonium at the Umuapu Junction on the Owerri-Port Harcourt road
on Tuesday following a clash between the youths of Umuapu community and
their counterparts from Obitti.
An
eyewitness also told newsmen that three persons were feared dead while
many were injured in the bloody clash in the Ohaji/Egbema Local
Government Area in Imo.
Among those who allegedly lost their lives were two youths from Umuapu and one from Obitti, according to an eyewitness.
Trouble
was said to have started when youths of Obitti allegedly gathered at
Umuapu Junction to dismantle the road block mounted by the youths of
Umuapu to stop traders from accessing the popular Orie Obitti Market.
According
to the eyewitness, the youths of the two communities had been at
daggers drawn until it eventually snowballed into the bloody clash.
It
was gathered that youths of Umuapu had insisted that commercial
motorcyclists from Obitti who operate their business at Umuapu Junction
pay some money known as ‘marching ground’ to be allowed to operate.
The
Obitti youths, on the other hand, refused to yield to the demand,
leading to a strained relationship between the neighbouring communities.
When
contacted, the Imo Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Andrew Enwerem,
confirmed the report but said he had no knowledge of any loss of lives.
Enwerem, however, said the police had restored calm in the area.
He assured the people that the police would commence investigation into the clash, saying that no arrests had been made.
The traditional ruler of Obitti Autonomous Community, Eze Clifford Chibuzor, also confirmed the clash.
He
said he had earlier warned his youths to resist the temptation of
confronting their Umuapu neighbours in spite of recurrent provocations.
Chibuzor
said he had sent emissaries to the traditional ruler of Umuapu, Eze
Boniface Ihueze, with a view to finding a lasting and amicable solution
to the conflict.
Where Miracles Happen: Haitian Voodoo In Saut D’ Eau Waterfalls (18+) [Photos]
Every
year in summer thousands of pilgrims from all over Haiti make a
religious journey to the village of Ville Bonheur and the sacred Waters
of Saut d’Eau waterfall, located near Mirebalais and 60 miles north of
Port au Prince, a main pilgrimage site in Haiti since 1847.
It is believed that 150 years ago, Erzulie the goddess of love and beauty, camouflaged in the spirit of Virgin Mary of miracles has appeared on a palm tree close to the waterfall, a French priest, afraid of the superstition this would inspire, cut the tree down, but it nonetheless became an important religious destination for Haitians.
The sick and the needy let the water of the falls wash over them as they perform various rituals of Voodoo in a religious festival that lasts for three days.
Haitians wearing only underwear perform a bathing and cleaning ritual under the waterfall and Voodoo followers get possessed by the spirit of water.
Believers spend hours under the sound and the coolness of the water, praying, hugging. Many throw their old clothes to the sky, a symbol of a past they want to leave behind.
And some hougan consult the (priests) or the mambo (priestess) possessed by loas (voodoo deities).
Beneath the waterspout is impossible to hear a word, the devotees dance, make ablutions with their bottles and bowls of pumpkin and delivered to communion with saints ‘praise’.

See How Much Gov Shettima Will Spend On The 53 Escaped Chibok Schoolgirls
The abduction of the over 200 students from the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno state by the Boko haram sect on April 14 has been a matter of serious concern both locally and internationally.
The Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, has said N150 million have been set aside to take care of the 53 Chibok schoolgirls, who escaped from the den of the Boko Haram terrorists.
The
governor made this development known while addressing the presidential
fact-finding committee in Chibok said: “The Borno State government has
set aside the sum of N150 million to fund a rehabilitation programme of
the 53 girls and to support parents in Chibok, whose sources of
livelihood have been truncated by the trauma, leaving them with little
or nothing to feed on, while we continue to work immeasurably towards
the release of the girls being held.”
Governor
Shettima who is very optimistic that the others will be freed also said
that his government is already in touch with key international
organisations and a plan of action has already been proposed by the
Ministry of Health in the State on issues relating to the health and
well-being of the 53 girls who escaped.
Human skull in church ceiling: DPP identifies culprits
The Lagos State Directorate of Public
Prosecutions has said 49-year-old Samson Adeneye and a woman, Oyerinde
Olawunmi, 48, have a case to answer in a matter in which a human skull
was found in the ceiling of an orthodox church in Lagos.
Two
policemen attached to the Special Anti-robbery Squad – ASP Franklin
Alade and Cpl Deleojo Odunayo – were also implicated in the matter, for
abuse of office.
PUNCH Metro had
reported in July 2013, that a human skull was found in the ceiling of
the St. Peter Cherubim and Seraphim band on Moses Adebisi Street, in the
Ketu area of the state.
Prior to the
incident, Adeneye and Olawunmi, who were former members of the band,
were said to have sent threat text messages to some of the church’s
ministers.
The two suspects were said to have accused the pastors of occultism and threatened to deal with them and kill them.
Both suspects were said to have alerted the two SARS officers that there was a case of gunrunning in the assembly.
The
policemen reportedly stormed the assembly without any search warrant
and headed for the ceiling where they allegedly found the item.
Our
correspondent learnt that further investigations by the police revealed
that the two former members might have arranged the object to implicate
the ministers, as suggested by earlier text messages sent to them.
They
were subsequently arrested and arraigned before a Surulere Magistrate’s
Court on charges of unlawful possession of human head.
The matter had been adjourned for DPP’s advice.
The
DPP in its advice, signed by the Deputy Director, Adegboyega Bajulaiye,
said, “After carefully considering the facts available in the duplicate
case file, this office is of the view that there are sufficient facts
to establish a prima facie case of conspiracy to commit felony to wit;
offering violence to officiating ministers of religion, written threat
to kill and publication of false news which is likely to cause fear and
alarm to the public….
“Facts
available in the duplicate case file reveal that prior to January 19,
2013, there was a malice that brewed up over the years between Apostle
Albert Samson and Samson Adeneye, which culminated into unauthorised
search on the premises of Albert by men of SARS, led by ASP Franklin
Alade, on the trumped-up allegation of gunrunning. This act of the
police officers, which was believed to have been instigated by Adeneye,
amount to abuse of office….”
The
advice further stated that the two defendants had been sending death
threat messages to the ministers, which were meant to distract them from
their duties as ministers.
On the
matter of the skull, the advice said, “There is however a strong
inference from the facts in the case file that Adeneye may have been
instrumental to placing ritual objects, including human skulls, on the
ceiling of Albert’s church because of his prior accusation of Albert
being a ritualist. This will only amount to speculation and suspicion,
which no matter how grave, cannot stand in the place of law,
particularly in the absence of eyewitness account or unequivocal
evidence of inference.”
The DPP said
based on its findings, Adeneye and Olawunmi, should be arraigned for
conspiracy to commit felony, written threat to kill and publication of
false news.
Four other suspects were ordered to be released, if still in police custody.
The magistrate, Mrs. A.O Adedayo, adjourned the matter till July 1, 2014.

I must also confirm that the special team set up by the Commissioner of Police to monitor what our men do on the road, arrested some policemen for varying offences” he said. The spokesman, who said the corrupt officers are currently explaining themselves to the commissioner of police special team, urged members of the public to promptly report any act of extortion by the police to his office for immediate action. “The rules governing stop and search operations are very clear and any policeman who goes out to do what he likes on the road is definitely on his own” he said. Some motorists, who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that the policemen on the roads were no longer interested in really checking the identities of the passengers or the goods being transported by the motorists. They further disclosed that some soldiers who stationed themselves close to Capitol Hotel, along Owerri-Okigwe road, have also had their fair share. It was also gathered that some policemen also extort money from motorists at the World Bank Housing Estate area in Owerri, while they (motorists) are avoiding the bad spots around Ideal Hotel roundabout. Beyonce’s fading tattoo sparks troubled marriage speculations
Since the video of Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator was leaked,
people have been scrutinizing Beyonce and Jay Z’s marriage. Now, they
have noticed that the tattoo on Beyonce’s wedding finger is fading,
sparking speculation that she’s been lasering it off.
Beyonce had tattooed the numeral IV (4) on her left finger in 2008, a symbol of her birthday (Sept. 4), Jay Z’s birthday (Dec. 4), and their wedding (April 4) but in recent pics of the star, the tattoo is gradually fading…and now people are asking if all is well in the Knowles-Carter household. They’ve been together for over 12 years…I have a feeling they will be together for a long time to come

See The Full Detail on how Borno Villagers Kill 200 and Capture 10 Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno
More details are coming in on how the Civilian-JTF, civilian vigilantes staved off a Boko Haram attack and possible abduction in Kalabalge local government, northeast Borno state, near the Cameroonian border.
The villagers who were prepared for the Boko Haram attack had dug out trenches for the purpose. The Rann village, located in the middle of a Boko Haram strong-hold, had been attacked by Boko Haram in the recent past. In that attack they had allegedly acquired two light-weight armored tanks and some AK47 rifles. They refused to turn in this ammunition to the government in an increasingly common response as more villages in the north are determined to take up arms to defend themselves in the current state of deadly insecurity. Continue…The invading terrorists who launched an early Tuesday morning attack on Rann, Shuwa and neighboring villages, were met by a strong and determined villager resistance. Over 200 terrorists were killed. The full number of the dead is not yet known as the villagers ran in pursuit of the escaping and injured terrorists into the bushes to continue their extermination.
We’ll rescue Chibok girls, FG insists
The Federal Government yesterday declared that it will go to any
length to secure the release of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted by
terrorist sect, Boko Haram from Government Girls’ Secondary Scool,
Chibok in Borno State.
This was even as female ministers in the Federal Executive Council condemned the abduction of the girls a month ago, describing it as heinous crime.
The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, while stating that the government had established a central information centre on the abduction of the Chibok girls from where the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mike Omiri would pass on information to the media, said: “We are ready to go to any length to secure the release of these our unfortunate daughters that have been in captivity. Everything is being done in relation to every operational measures that will be taken particularly by the Nigerian armed Forces in collaboration with foreign assistance that has been offered by different nations of the world.”

I will only marry someone who will forgive my adultery – Genevieve Nnaji
The journey of two people together for better or worse is never easy.
But with complete dedication, love and tolerance for each other, the challenges that may beset the marriage can be overcome.
Genevieve Nnaji is yet to get married and explains what her criteria are for choosing her right partner:
“As for marriage, it’s every woman’s dream to get married. We can’t lie to ourselves. I do want to get married but overtime I have had opportunities to get married but I realize getting married is not actually the problem. The problem is finding someone you are compatible with because I’m born Catholic, I’m raised Catholic, I don’t believe in divorce. If I get married, I really want to stay married and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. It means you’ve found your soul mate because you’ll have to be able to stand a lot of disappointments that would definitely come but then again you have to learn to forgive.
For me, before I choose a partner I have to ask myself if this is the kind of person I would be willing to forgive no matter what when the time comes. If the answer is no, then that person is wrong for me. That person is not the person you want to get married to. If you know you can look into someone’s eyes and say yes, this is the most you can do to me. If you actually cheat on me the first time, I can find it in my heart to forgive you. If you can answer that question honestly and truthfully to yourself then you’ll know if that person is your partner or not. So compatibility is the word aside from the physical attributes that have to go with it. I need to be comfortable because I’m a woman and I’m used to a certain lifestyle.”
Even though the person may say they can forgive even when she cheats, can that be guaranteed? And will that not let some partners go ahead and cheat because they know they can be forgiven?

Soldiers went wild in Borno as GOC addresses them
Some soldiers on Wednesday went haywire while they were being addressed by some General Officers Commanding.
Contrary to rules of conduct, the soldiers fired shots during the address.
This led to pandemonium at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, where the soldiers were being addressed.
The shots were said to have been fired by the soldiers as a reaction to the arrival of the corpses of four of their colleagues who were shot dead during patrol duties in Chibok area of the state.
It was in Chibok that 234 schoolgirls of Government Girls Secondary School were abducted by members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, on April 14.
The Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, who confirmed the development, said a Board of Inquiry would be set up by the 7 Division of the Nigeria Army to probe the incident.
Olukolade added: “There is calm in the cantonment and all normal operations activities are ongoing.”
